19 Reasons We Love Working at Rhino Africa

Date:

Ever wondered what it’s like working atĀ Rhino Africa? Well, we love being part of the Rhino Crash for many reasons! However, in celebration of our 19th birthday, we’ve whittled down the list to the top 19 reasons we’re proud to be called Rhinos.

1. We Make our Travellers’ Dreams Come True

First and foremost, we love working at Rhino Africa because we make travellers’ dreams come true! Many people will only dream about seeing our vast African landscapes, majestic wildlife, and fascinating cultures in person. However, we have the power and first-hand expertise not only to make it happen but to make it an extraordinary experience!

Just read some of our past guests’ raving reviews. Thank you to every one of our guests who helped us get an excellent Trustpilot rating of 4.9/5! Ā

2. Weā€™re the World’s Best Safari CompanyĀ

Although we’re not a boastful bunch, some things are worth being loud and proud about! Our Rhino Crash has worked hard consistently to earn our stripes as the World’s Best Safari Company.Ā

3. Weā€™ve Got Big HeartsĀ

Our love for our continent fuels everything we do at Rhino Africa. Therefore, our main purpose as a company is to protect and uplift our local African communities, wildlife, and landscapes. We have Impact Partners we support to help us achieve this, like the Good Work Foundation, that’s Africa’s first digital learning campus model. They are helping to drive digital learning while connecting rural communities to the rest of the world,Ā reimagining education, and creating job opportunities in Africa as a whole.Ā

Then there are the sweet little faces at Khumbulani Daycare. We love visiting and supporting this haven for the vulnerable, in particular children affected and infected by HIV/AIDS, and it’s a cause that’s very close to our hearts.Ā

4. Weā€™re Big on Impact and Saving Africaā€™s WildlifeĀ

Africa’s brimming with wondrous wildlife, and we want to keep it that way! By partnering with conservation heroes like WildlifeACT, we strive to protect our most vulnerable species from extinction, so that future generations can also marvel at their magnificence in real life.

Ā 5. We’re the Authority on Luxury African TravelĀ

Our CEO and Founder, David Ryan, is a highly influential voice in the travel industry, not just in South Africa but globally and in the LGBTQ+ space. He’s a proud ambassador for IGLTA (International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association) and has been awarded for his positive influence in the travel industry.Ā

10. We Believe in Transparency

11. Our Green Office Space in the Heart of Cape Town

The Rhino Africa HQ is anything but dull! We’ve created a green hub, so we love going in to spend our days there. Plus, the coffeeā€™s really good!Ā

12. Inclusive EmployerĀ

Our home in Cape Town is one of the world’s most gay-friendly and diverse cities. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, it can be daunting to show your true, authentic self to your employer. However, you don’t have to waste a second stressing about this at Rhino Africa! With many of our Rhino Crash being loud and proud LGBTQ+ members, including our very own CEO and Founder David Ryan, you can rest assured you’ll be welcomed with open arms. We’re very proud of this inclusive culture we’ve fostered.

13. Melting Pot of Cultures and Languages

Our home country South Africa has 11 official languages, so it only makes sense that this is reflected in our Rhino Crash. Many of our Rhinos speak two or more local languages. Plus, we also have German, French, Spanish, and Portuguese-speaking Rhinos hailing from all over the world! We strive to talk to our guests in their home languages whenever possible.Ā

14. Collective African Expertise of over 350 Years

Our Travel Experts have slept in the beds, dined on the food, sipped the wine, savoured the G&Ts, marvelled at the wildlife on the game drives, and more. And it’s for this very reason that they’re so unbelievably good at tailoring itineraries for our guests! Each and every one of them has decades of experience, and it shows. They are what makes us the Best Safari Company in the world. Go on, reach out to them, and you’ll see what we’re on about!Ā

15. Leaving a Legacy in AfricaĀ

We practise what we preach. When we say we’re big on doing good and making a difference, we mean it! For example, we’ve done multiple charity runs to raise money for worthy causes, we frequently visit Khumbulani to give the little ones some love, spread some cheer, and so much more. Furthermore, for every seven guests we bring to Africa, we ensure a sustainable job is created!Ā

17. Rhinos Get a Kick out of Being Naughty

Wait, what? Yes, indeed, it’s true! We love being a little naughty. This means we are responsibly rebellious, take calculated risks, and are definitely not shy to be the first to try something! In fact, we love entering uncharted territory. And this is especially true when creating a better experience for our guests through innovation and disruption.

If you’re looking for the run-of-the-mill, vanilla company, move along because we’re anything but that! We don’t just accept, we challenge, and we always like to stay just that little bit uncomfortable because no one has ever achieved great things in their cushy comfort zone.
